Sunset over a quiet Ischia beach with a rocky headland beside the sea

The journey

On Ischia, life follows the island.

Ischia begins with a crossing. The sea opens, the pace changes, and we settle into an island life that reaches far beyond the shore. Our family village draws us toward the vineyards, gardens and kitchens of the interior.

We make space for the hands that shape the island. We spend time with a ceramicist working with clay, a basket maker weaving familiar materials, a cook sharing the dishes that belong to this place. There is wine from the island’s volcanic soil, the warmth of thermal water and a table set for a long evening.

And always, there is the sea. There is a day by boat, time to swim, and the possibility of seeing the Festa di Sant’Anna from the water. We leave afternoons open enough to return to our island home, rest and watch the light change.

There will be beautiful things to do.And there will be time to do nothing at all.

The shape of the journey

Eight nights on Ischia. One island home. Time to find our own rhythm.

  1. Day 01

    The crossing

We meet in Naples and travel to the island together. After an optional fitting for handmade sandals, we settle into our home, a beautifully restored former hermitage, and take in the view before a welcome dinner at sunset on the sea.

  2. Day 02

    Ischia from the sea

A private boat takes us around the island, with room for swimming, lunch at a restaurant reached only by boat and the pleasure of seeing the coastline from the water. We return for a long pause before sunset, then dinner comes with a sea view, a whitewashed church, and the last light of the day.

  3. Day 03

    Clay and cucina

The island’s ancient past leads us to its makers. We visit a ceramics studio to work with clay, then are invited into a local Ischitan kitchen. There, we prepare dinner alongside the family who welcomes us, making pasta by hand and drawing on the island’s garden produce.

  4. Day 04

    Water, vines and roots

Thermal waters make for a restorative day. Later we visit our family village, where our story is rooted, before an evening among the vines tasting island wines and flavors rooted in the island’s rich volcanic soil.

  5. Day 05

    Sant’Anna, from the water

A slow morning leaves room for a swim, a long lunch and an afternoon at home. We go to the sea for a sunset swim and dinner aboard our boat before the Festa di Sant’Anna unfolds across the bay. As darkness falls, the castle glows as though engulfed in flames, followed by fireworks reflected in the water around us.

  6. Day 06

    A day to linger

After the late evening, we take our time. Thermal gardens and a sandy shore offer a day for swimming and stillness, followed by a private dinner at home centered on the island’s abundance.

  7. Day 07

    The island inland

We meet a basket maker, spend time at the world’s oldest spa, and continue into the island’s rural interior. In a family cantina, local wine and a traditional rabbit dinner tell another side of the island’s story.

  8. Day 08

    One last afternoon

We explore a castle that has stood for centuries and wander the waterside lanes below it, then leave the afternoon open for the water. A final aperitivo and dinner with a view give us time to return to the moments we want to carry home.

  9. Day 09

    Until we return

After breakfast, we travel by ferry to Naples together, with time to say goodbye before each guest continues onward.

An early glimpse of our planned Ischia journey. The order and individual experiences may change as arrangements are confirmed; Sant’Anna festivities depend on the official program and sea conditions.
